Ikea – Logan, Qld

Urban Energy Australasia installs a large commercial solar hot water manufacturing 9000 litres of water per day, reducing Ike’s energy consumption by 80%; hence reducing their carbon foot print; equivalent to planting 9100 trees / year or supplying domestic hot water to 55 houses per day.

NSW Energy Learning Centre – Trigeneration
Providing heating & cooling for new state of the art training facility for the NSW energy learning centre in Silverwater NSW. By reducing the burning of fossil fuel to manufacture domestic hot water; this dramatically reduces carbon foot print of the site clearly demonstrating that renewable energy is commercially viable and commercially conscious.
Lilyfield Housing Development
New affordable housing development for the local residents of Lilyfield, Urban Energy Australasia was contacted by the department of housing to design and construct the most efficient solar domestic hot water system with the mandate of maximising renewable energy solar contribution and minimising carbon foot print. This development comprises of 80 apartments. Approximate planting of 7700 trees per year which is equivalent to 96 tonnes of carbon footprint.
Ulladulla Leisure Centre
Urban Energy Australasia was commissioned to design a renewable energy solution to heat two internal pools, a 25 m pool and another hydro therapy pool. We installed a solar bank of 12 commercial collectors resulting in reducing in excess of 200 KW of energy per day. They were burning LPG as their primary source of energy. With the great success of the project Urban Energy Australasia was recently reappointed to expand the project to include the 50 m exterior pool. Once the pool is closed on April, we will redirect all solar energy into the interior pools thereby minimising the need to burning fossil fuels. The carbon foot print is equivalent to planting 8400 tree or 105 tonnes per year.

The Plumbing Industry Climate Action Centre (PICAC)

The Plumbing Industry Climate Action Centre (PICAC), in Albert Street, Brunswick, is an industry-led facility funded by the CEPU, the Master Plumbers and Mechanical Services Association of the Australian and the Joint Training Fund.

It is proudly supported by the Victorian Government and the Plumbing industry Commission.  It is located only six kilometers from the Centre of Melbourne’s CBD.

By showcasing the world’s leading-edge technology the PICAC broadens industry horizons. With this in mind Urban Energy Australasia has installed a Tedom Micro T25 CHP Co-generation unit into the facility to show case this technology. The Co-generation / tri-generation is widely used throughout Europe but has recently become more available in Australia. By installing this unit into the Climate action centre it will enable the centre to draw is energy needs from the unit as at the same time train a new generation of technicians in this new and exciting technology.

The centre also show cases the following

·         Green building developments and greenhouse gas emissions strategies such as new and innovated industry developments like chilled beam and ceiling technology.
·         Hydronic Heating
·         Solar systems
·         Environmental sustainability
·         Waste management, reduction
·         Accessibility
